What time will we leave Melbourne?
We typically depart Melbourne between 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM, depending on your hotel location and the season. This early start is key it lets us reach the Twelve Apostles before the large tour buses arrive, so you experience the sites at their quietest and most beautiful. We’ll confirm your exact pickup time 1–2 days before your tour.
Why do you travel the Great Ocean Road in reverse?
Travelling west first means we arrive at the Twelve Apostles and Gibson Steps in the morning before the crowds. You get unobstructed views, more peaceful time at the best spots, and the sun is at its best angle for photos. On the return journey, we drive the iconic Great Ocean Road section along the coast with the ocean on your side and every lookout easily accessible. It’s the smarter, more enjoyable way to see the route.
How many passengers can travel?
This is a fully private tour only your group travels together. Our spacious Mercedes vehicles comfortably accommodate up to 6 guests, plus your dedicated guide and driver. There’s no mixing with strangers just your family, friends, or colleagues, with plenty of room to stretch out and relax.
Can we customise the itinerary?
Absolutely that’s the beauty of a private tour. We follow a carefully crafted route, but we can adjust stops, timing, and pace to suit your interests. Want to linger longer at a waterfall, skip a stop, or find a quiet beach? Just let us know it’s your day. We’ll also suggest hidden gems along the way that larger tours can’t include.
Can you provide child seats?
Yes we can provide Australian-standard child seats and boosters at no extra cost. Just let us know ages and sizes when booking so we have everything ready and safely installed before pickup. We want all passengers big and small to travel comfortably and securely.
Is lunch included?
Lunch and refreshments are not included in the tour price, but your guide will take you to wonderful local spots from seaside cafes to historic pubs where you can choose what you’d like to eat and drink. We stop at places that showcase the region’s best produce, and we always allow plenty of time to relax and enjoy the meal. Bottled water is provided on board throughout the day.
Where do you pick us up?
We provide complimentary pickup and drop-off at your Melbourne hotel or private address within the CBD and inner suburbs. If you’re staying further out, we’ll arrange a convenient meeting point just let us know your accommodation details when booking. Your guide will call or message you the evening before to confirm the exact pickup time.
Can we take a helicopter flight over the Twelve Apostles?
Yes absolutely! We can arrange a scenic helicopter flight over the Twelve Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge, and Shipwreck Coast directly from the visitor centre. Flights run daily (weather permitting), and we’ll time our arrival so you don’t miss out. Just let us know at booking if you’d like to include this it’s an unforgettable perspective of the coastline.
What happens if the weather is bad?
We operate in all weather conditions the Great Ocean Road is stunning in sunshine, mist, and storm light. In the rare event that conditions make travel unsafe, we’ll contact you to discuss rescheduling or a full refund. If rain or wind arrives during the day, we simply adjust our pace many lookouts are sheltered, and the coastline takes on a dramatic, beautiful mood in wild weather.
